Centrol Crop Consulting Summer Internship (SCOUT)
Responsibilities
This internship opportunity requires students to monitor fields and compile collected information, including crop condition and pest levels. Intern will also be asked to assist in taking soil samples, filing reports and completing other duties as needed. Intern will be asked to complete reports, accurately summarizing information. This position will also require maintaining company equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications
Centrol is looking for a self-motivated individual with good observation and communication skills. Farm background and/or completion of courses in related subjects (crop production, weed science, entomology, plant pathology, etc.) may be helpful, but are not necessary for this position. Sincere interest in agronomy and the ability to learn are essential requirements.
Employment Period
This internship opportunity would begin at semester’s end and run through August or September, depending on availability.
Benefits
This position at Centrol, LLC offers hands-on experience with practical pest management in a wide variety of farming situations. This internship will help students learn first hand about identification and management strategies for:
- weeds
- insects
- diseases
- plant nutrition
Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside an agronomist and certified crop advisers, learning from a team with over 48 years of combined experience in the field. The selected student will have the ability to learn first-hand what crop consulting is all about.
